I’m Dr. Amo, a UK based dentist trained in restorative and oral surgery — but before I was in the clinic, I was in the ring.
As a second-degree black belt in Taekwondo, I spent years sparring with bulky, boil-and-bite mouthguards that made it hard to breathe, hard to focus, and honestly, hard to perform. and every session felt like a gamble between staying protected or staying focused.
Back then, I didn’t have access to the kind of mouthguard I really needed — and I didn’t know how important it was.
Now, as a dentist, I’ve seen the damage that poor protection causes: cracked teeth, jaw injuries, lifelong dental trauma that’s painful and pricey to fix.

Here’s the truth: getting a proper custom-fit mouthguard from a dentist isn’t always easy. It’s expensive, not always accessible, and often requires taking time off just to get it made. Getting a dentist-made guard is pricey, slow, and out of reach for most athletes.
That’s where GuardX comes in. We use the same clinical-grade technology and dental standards — including CAD/CAM, precision impressions, and expert fit checks — but bring it directly to athletes. Hi, I’m Siobhan — a dental nurse who has seen firsthand the reality of dental injuries. From broken teeth to missing teeth, and all the pain and anxiety that comes with it, I know how serious and life-impacting these moments can be.
Watching patients struggle with preventable dental injuries inspired me to advocate for better protection. Losing a tooth isn’t just painful — it’s emotionally and financially costly.
My mission is to help athletes avoid that experience entirely by making professional-level protection more accessible.
That’s why GuardX exists — to make sure athletes have the right gear to protect their smiles, perform with confidence, and focus fully on their sport.
When I’m not at the dental practice, I’m working to raise awareness about the importance of proper mouth protection. A great mouthguard isn’t just equipment — it’s peace of mind.
